Sen. John Hoffman (D-Champlin, Minn)
CHAMPLIN, Minn. (KFGO/Learfield) — Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman is seeking a fifth term in office.
In a Facebook post, Hoffman wrote that “we’ve seen firsthand where hate and dehumanization can lead. My family survived it.”
He and his wife, Yvette, were shot in their Champlin home in June during what law enforcement has described as a politically motivated attack.
It’s the same night Minnesota House Speaker-Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband were assassinated.
Vance Boelter, 57, was arrested and charged in connection to shooting the Hoffmans and the killings of Hortman and her husband Mark.
Hoffman said he is running for reelection to “keep leading with dignity.” He represents Senate District 34 in the northwest metro.
