Matthew Torgerson (Otter Tail County Jail)
FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO KBRF) – A Perham man has been sentenced to almost 10 years in prison for having over a large quantity of methamphetamine.
42-year-old Matthew Steven Torgerson was sentenced to 115 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for 1st degree possession of meth.
Otter Tail County prosecutors say a Fergus Falls police officer was driving near Cleveland School on July 26, when the officer recognized Torgerson on a motorized scooter, who had warrants for his arrest. The officer turned around and located Torgerson in a line of thick bushes after crashing the scooter.
Officers found on him 323.9 grams of methamphetamine, as well as $2,348 in cash. He pleaded guilty to 1st degree drug possession in October.
