HUDSON, S.D. (KFGO) – A 14-year-old boy is dead after being run over by a pickup a mile south of Hudson last Saturday.
The Highway Patrol says the boy from Hudson was riding in the bed of a pickup pulling someone on a snowboard. The snowboarder fell and the 18-year-old Iowa man driving stopped the pickup and began backing up.
The boy fell out of the bed and the pickup hit him.
The highway patrol says the group drove the boy to a nearby hospital in Iowa where he died. No one else was injured.
Charges are pending against the man driving the pickup.
