FARGO (KFGO) – The City of Fargo late Friday released the results of an employee engagement survey with city employees and city leaders following an open records request earlier this month from KFGO News.
The anonymous survey was conducted by CPS HR Consulting through an online form from August 18 through September 5. 68% (711) of city employees responded to the survey.
The survey questions attempted to explore employee engagement, which CPS HR defines as the connection between the employee and their organization. Based on employees’ responses to the survey, an engagement score was calculated for each employee. The survey found that 69% of city employees are engaged. Overall, 18% of city employees are “fully engaged,” 51% are “somewhat engaged” and 31% are “not engaged.”
Building off the survey results, the Human Resources Department plans to conduct employee feedback sessions to gain a better understanding of opportunities for improvement and to prioritize actions to enhance overall employee experience.
“The survey shows our employees are committed to the city’s mission and are proud of the difference they make every day for our community,” said Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney. “We also recognize there is room to further strengthen leadership connections and continue efforts to foster trust across our city government.”
