OMAHA, Nebraska (KNFL/KFGO) – The North Dakota Fighting Hawks had a huge test last night against a Big East team in the Creighton Blue Jays. Despite a solid rally by UND, Creighton was just as advertised.
UND would have a 15-10 lead in the first half. It would be the last lead for North Dakota, as that eventually turned into a 47-36 lead for Creighton at the end of the half.
North Dakota would come to within 8 at 62-54 a little more than halfway into the 2nd half. But, despite a choppy shooting performance from Creighton, they pulled away to win 75-60.
Marley Curtis lead the scoring for UND with 14 points over 33 minutes of play. Grayson Uelman was right behind him with 13 points in 26 minutes. For Creighton, they were led by Blake Harper, who had a double-double, scoring 19 points, and collecting 12 assists over 27 minutes. Also for the Blue Jays, Josh Dix had 16 points in 31 minutes.
UND drops to 2-4 overall as they head to Macomb, Illinois, for a multi-team event over the weekend. They will start it off against Coastal Carolina on Saturday evening, and then Western Illinois on Sunday.
