Michael Conover, 55, Fargo
FARGO (KFGO) – One man is in jail and another hospitalized after a stabbing in north Fargo on Monday, Nov. 17. Fargo Police responded to an apartment complex on the corner of Dakota Drive and 16th Street N. around 6:15 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found an injured man outside. He suffered non life-threatening injuries and refused medical treatment on the scene.
Officers say another man barricaded himself inside an apartment and refused to come out. The Red River Valley SWAT team was called due to the potential threat of an armed suspect.
KFGO News reporter Gretchen Hjelmstad says officers had guns drawn and used loud speakers to communicate with the man inside the apartment building. The SWAT team brought in a robot and a K-9 was also present.
Michael Conover, 55, surrendered just before 9 a.m. after officers deployed a chemical irritant into the apartment. Conover was arrested for aggravated domestic assault and preventing arrest.
