MOORHEAD (KFGO) — A Moorhead woman is in the Clay County Jail after a domestic assault.
Police responded just before 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15 to the 1800 block of 20th Street South for an assault. The victim, a 55-year-old woman, had non-life threatening injuries and was brought to an area hospital.
Court records say Cooley hit the victim in the head several times with a set of bicycle handlebars, causing significant cuts to her forehead and back of the head. Officers say the victim was bleeding through the bandages provided by paramedics.
22-year-old Maryssa Cooley was arrested. She’s being held for felony assault and misdemeanor domestic assault.
The victim was taken to the hospital where she received several stitches.
