GREAT BEND, N.D. (KFGO) – A semi driver was taken to a hospital after a crash near Great Bend Tuesday morning.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Office says a passerby reported a semi was traveling north on Interstate 29 when the truck left the road, crossed through the median and the southbound lanes, and ended up in the west ditch. First responders say the driver was sitting between the seats of the semi and unable to open the door. Deputies forced the door open.
Members of the Great Bend Fire Department and Hankinson Ambulance evaluated the driver. He was taken to CHI St. Francis Health in Breckenridge, Minnesota by CHI Ambulance.
Information about the driver and his condition have not been released. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
