GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO/KVRR) — A 34-year-old man was arrested on a number of charges after leading Grand Forks County deputies on a pursuit in Grand Forks.
Police say around 8:20 p.m. Monday, a deputy tried to pull over Derek Myrvik for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and a felony warrant out of Minnesota. He fled and hit speeds up to 55 mph in town. The pursuit continued for over five miles.
Deputies used spike strips and a PIT maneuver to eventually stop the vehicle. Myrvik was taken to the Grand Forks County Jail.
In addition to the felony warrant, Myrvik was arrested on probable cause for eight other offenses.
