Jay Barker (Cass County Jail)
FARGO (KFGO) – A federal grand jury has indicted a man for robbing the downtown Fargo branch of Wells Fargo bank on August 1.
Jay Barker, 66, has past convictions, including one from 2017 for robbing a credit union in St. John in northern North Dakota.
In the latest case, Barker is accused of handing a note to an employee of the Main Avenue bank. Court records say he got away with more than $10,000.
Earlier this week, state charges against Barker were dismissed.
On Friday, a federal magistrate judge has ordered that barker remain in jail until the case is resolved.
A tentative trial date for barker has been set for late November.
