HASTINGS, Minn. – Drinking is believed to be a factor in a head-on crash near Randolph in Dakota County that left two people dead.
The state patrol says a pickup was going north in the southbound lanes of State Highway 56 when it collided with an SUV Saturday. The SUV driver and passenger died at the scene. They were identified as 68-year-old Peter Olson and 49-year-old Patricia Olson of Apple Valley.
The 28-year-old pickup driver was taken to Regions Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It’s believed he’d been drinking prior to the collision.
