Cass County Commissioner Joel Vettel
FARGO (KFGO) – Former Fargo Police Lieutenant Joel Vettel says he’s thinking about a run for Fargo mayor next year.
Vettel is now a Senior Development Business Partner with Sanford Medical. He’s also a former park district board member and Executive Director of the Fargo Park District who’s now in his first term as a Cass County Commissioner.
Vettel says several people have asked him to consider a run for mayor, and he’s thinking about the race. He doesn’t have a firm timetable for making a decision, but says it would likely be fairly soon. The election is in June. Vettel spent nearly 20 years with Fargo police. He left the department in 2016.
Mayor Tim Mahoney cannot run for another four-year term due to term limits.
