DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (KFGO KZZY) – Ramsey County Sheriff Bryan Lang says he’s placed a deputy on administrative leave pending a review of possible violations of department policy.
Devils Lake police were called to a home on August 8 for a domestic disturbance.
Lang says deputy Casey Ahmann and another person were at the residence.
Ramsey County State’s Attorney Daniel Howell says an independent prosecutor determined that Ahmann and the other person were engaged in “mutual combat while intoxicated.” Howell says no action will be taken by his office unless new information is developed.
Sheriff Lang says he’s asked the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation to review the case.
Ahmann has been with the sheriff’s department for about two years.
