FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO) — An 8-year-old was seriously injured when the UTV they were driving rolled Friday afternoon.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says the child was driving the UTV through a field northeast of Fergus Falls. The child tried to turn, which caused the UTV to roll. The child was not wearing a seatbelt, and was pinned under the vehicle. Family rescued the child before first responders arrived. The child was unconscious, and flown by Life Link III to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
The child’s sibling was also in the UTV. They were wearing a seatbelt, and were not injured. Neither child was wearing a helmet. The crash in under investigation.
