MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – Senator Matt Klein of Mendota Heights is seeking Democratic nomination for Congress in Minnesota’s 2nd District.
Congresswoman Angie Craig announced last week that she’s running for U-S Senate in 2026.
Klein is a doctor of internal medicine at Mayo Clinic and is serving his third term in the Minnesota Senate. He’s sponsoring a bipartisan sports betting bill this session and helped pass legislation aimed at controlling medication and health insurance costs.
Former Democratic Senator Matt Little of Lakeville is also campaigning for Craig’s seat.
Seven Republicans have expressed interest in replacing Craig.
