ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO) – Former Minnesota Senate Minority Leader Melissa Lopez-Franzen is running for the US Senate next year.
The Democrat from Edina says she’s launching a campaign focused on fighting for working families, expanding economic opportunity, protecting Minnesota’s neighbors, and bringing common sense and decency to washington.
Lopez-Franzen served ten years in the state senate but left in 2022 when new legislative maps put her in the same district as Democratic Senator Ron Latz of St. Louis Park.
Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan officially kicked off her campaign for Tina Smith’s US Senate seat over the weekend.
