ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota House lawmakers have given the first green light to establishing a Parent’s Bill of Rights.
The bill would establish a list of rights for parents in raising their children, prohibiting any government entity from infringing on those rights. There would be 12 rights given to parents, including deciding what’s best for the child’s education, religion, upbringing, and health care decisions.
The bill has now been moved to the House Education Finance Committee for further discussion.
