ST. PAUL – The stalemate over the power-sharing agreement in the Minnesota House enters another day. The only wrinkle Wednesday seemed to be the silence between the two sides.
Republican leader Lisa Demuth says “No discussions with Representative Hortman.”
Demuth did invite any Democrat who would like to join the Republicans on the House floor. “There is a place for anyone who wants to come in and get to work. We know there should be committee assignments but you have to have committees before you can do the work and get committee assignments. So, I don’t know what’s holding them back.”
Hortman, the Democratic leader did not have her usual news conference with the media. Both Hortman and Demuth say they are staying optimistic.
