BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – North Dakota law enforcement officers handed out nearly 3,600 citations during the latest Click It or Ticket campaign.
The Department of Transportation says between Nov. 1 and Dec. 12, officers wrote 3,587 citations. There were 2,382 seat belt violations, 384 speeding tickets, 121 suspended or revoked license violations, 120 uninsured drivers, 34 child restraint citations, 18 distracted driving citations, and 353 other citations like disobeying traffic signals and equipment violations.
There were also 14 warrants served, 10 drug arrests, and five DUI arrests.
The department says preliminary data show 46% of vehicle fatalities involved unbuckled occupants.
