ST. PAUL – On the first day of his second term as President, Donald Trump signed an executive order requiring the federal government to recognize male and female as the only two sexes.
House Representative Leigh Finke, the first transgender state representative in Minnesota, says Minnesota’s safe-haven state laws stand strong despite national division.
Finke says, “We are going to fight hard for our rights; we’re going to try to make sure people know what their rights are and not let fear overcome the law, and we will move forward no matter what it takes.”
The order, titled “Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government,” explains it as “sexes that are not changeable” and “an individual’s immutable biological classification.”
