SANBORN, N.D. (KFGO) – A 46-year-old Valley city woman was killed Monday morning in a car-semi collision on Barnes County Road 22, about a mile east of Sanborn.
The Highway Patrol says the semi was headed south on State Highway 1, towing a trailer with soybeans. The car was westbound when it was hit on the passenger side while crossing Highway 1.
The woman was a passenger in the car. She and a 15-year-old girl, who was driving the car, were taken to Mercy Hospital in Valley City and later transferred to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, where the passenger died. The driver of the car has life-threatening injuries. The semi driver, a 59-year-old Valley City man, was seriously injured. The patrol has not released the names of those involved in the collision. It happened at about 8:15 a.m.
