The former President of the United States was shot in the ear from an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania. A lone shooter on top of a neighboring building took an AR and shot at the former President without caring where the bullets went. One bystander was killed, and others were seriously injured. We don’t know why, but we do know that there was an attempt to kill Donald Trump.
Some of the other things we know are that the Secret Service did a terrible job protecting him. To allow a twenty-year-old to climb on a roof, spotted by the attendees I might add, with an AR less than 200 yards away is inexcusable. To leave Trump on stage, not knowing if there were other shooters is inexcusable. And to allow his exposure for another shot is total incompetence. While the fist pump photo will probably get him reelected, the cost of him almost getting killed is something the Service has to answer to.
Why the killer did what he did is yet to be known. We know that he was a loner in high school while being a “pretty decent student,” and he was a registered Republican that his high school classmates knew as a conservative. But none of that matters. The $15 he probably spent on a Democrat in 2021 doesn’t matter either. What matters is what we find out from the FBI, and that’ll take some time.
_____________
Doug Burgum didn’t get the job. Donald Trump didn’t choose him to be his running mate. All that money spent, all the butt-kissing done, and all the positions he changed and it didn’t get Burgum the job. It all may land him a spot in Trump’s cabinet, but it didn’t get Doug the job he wanted. It didn’t get him a heartbeat away from the presidency.
It has to be a terrible thing to wake up and know you sold your soul. Especially when, in the end, you really didn’t get anything in return.
Good riding with you,
Joel
