MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – One man was hurt and another was arrested after what police call a potential bias crime near a mosque in Minneapolis.
Police say a 36-year-old man was in the parking lot of the mosque, located at 116 32 Street W, Tuesday around noon when a man in a minivan sped toward him. The victim tried to run, and the driver of the minivan swerved and hit him.
The man in the minivan left the scene. The victim was taken to Hennepin Healthcare.
Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, the suspect – identified as 37-year-old James Suttles – was arrested after officers found him in his vehicle.
Police Chief Brian O’Hara says investigators are familiar with the suspect who has a history of trespassing at the mosque and acting erratically.
