
MOORETON, N.D. (KFGO) – A crash with serious injury occurred two miles north of Mooreton, ND yesterday afternoon just after 2 PM.
Barry Raftevold, a 67-year-old man from Wahpeton, ND, was driving a pickup truck on County Road 1 while a second truck, driven by 29-year-old Bryan Ford from Mooreton, ND, was traveling eastbound on 77th Street SE.
Ford failed to yield at the intersection marked with a yield sign, and the trucks collided in the intersection, coming to rest in the northeast ditch.
After impact, Raftevold’s pickup became engulfed in flames. The occupants of the pickup were able to exit the vehicle before the vehicle became engulfed. Passenger Delores Blazek, 77, Mooreton, ND, and Raftevold both suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Ford suffered serious, life-threatening injuries.
Ford has been charged with failing to yield at an intersection marked with a yield sign. The ND Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
