ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO) – Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has charged eight people for their involvement in a scheme to defraud the Minnesota Medical Assistance program out of nearly $2.6 million.
The criminal complaint says the co-conspirators engaged in a broad scheme of identity theft, using hundreds of stolen identities, largely from the Faribault area, to bill Medicaid for services the victims did not receive, and the suspects did not provide.
The co-conspirators are charged with 67 felonies including racketeering, felony theft, and identity theft.
