WOODBURY, Minn. (KFGO) – The final defendant involved in the 2021 fatal shooting at a Woodbury graduation party that killed 14-year-old Demaris Ekdahl has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
26-year-old Enrique Davila pleaded guilty February to aiding and abetting second-degree unintentional murder and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
Officials say Davila was part of a group that used guns when confronting Demaris, his brother, Davion, and others at the party around 10:30 p.m. June 5th. Demaris was shot through a car and later pronounced dead from blood loss due to the gunshot wound.
Davila is also ordered to pay $16,000 in restitution.
