On Monday, April 22, and Tuesday, April 23, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and U.S. Forest Service Chief Randy Moore will travel to Pennsylvania, where they will hold events that highlight the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s commitment to increasing access to greenspaces in urban communities, creating more revenue streams for producers, and building economic prosperity in rural America in celebration of Earth Week 2024.
On Monday, April 22, Chief Moore will be in Pittsburgh, where he will join Pennsylvania Secretary of Conservation and Natural Resources Cindy Adams Dunn for a visit to a local tree nursery and speaking program highlighting community efforts to increase access to green spaces and highlight a local project funded by USDA’s Forest Service.
On the morning of Tuesday, April 23, Secretary Vilsack will be in Erie, where he and Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding will hold a roundtable discussion with producers and rural Pennsylvanians about USDA’s efforts to build prosperity in rural communities.
In the afternoon on Tuesday, April 23, Secretary Vilsack and Secretary Redding will travel to Punxsutawney, where they will join U.S. Representative Glenn “GT” Thompson, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture, at a groundbreaking ceremony for Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
