SB&B Foods, a family-owned, identity preserved soybean supplier, recently announced their 2024 grower award winners at their annual SB&B Supplier Summit conference held at Grandview Lodge in Nisswa, Minnesota in early April. The SB&B Supplier Summit Awards recognize growers who have ventured beyond growing traditional row crops and have dedicated acres to growing identity-preserved soybeans for SB&B.
“Our success is in part the result of the commitment demonstrated by our growers, who undertake additional efforts so we can deliver quality food-grade soybeans to our customers abroad,” says Scott Sinner, SB&B partner.
The 2024 award winners were:
- The West Region Rookie of the Year winner was Reimers General Partnership, owned by Dale & Doug Reimers, in Jamestown, North Dakota.
- The East Region Rookie of the Year winner was Mellenthin Farms, owned by Marty and Heidi Mellenthin and Tony and Katie Mellenthin, in Eau Galle, Wisconsin
- West Region Grower of the Year was Dimmler Farms owned by Scott and Darla Dimmler and Cole and Meghan Dimmler, in Devils Lake, North Dakota.
- East Region Grower of the Year was Indianhead Farms owned by Bob and Karyn Schauff and Zach & Brooke Schauff, in Barron, Wisconsin.
“The growers we partner with are an integral part of our value chain. Our goal is to provide them with the tools they need to continue to supply safe food to our customers around the world. Our Supplier Summit is our opportunity to celebrate the successes with all of our farmers and recognize their hard work along the way,” says Sinner.
The SB&B Supplier Summit also featured keynote speaker Veteran John Kriesel and agricultural updates from David Spickler of Lighthouse Commodities, Dan Lemke of Linder Farm Network, Joe Ikley from NDSU Extension, Kellie Livernois from Bushel and Chuck Fritz from the International Water Institute for attendees.
