MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – KFGO has captured another 10 awards from the six-state Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association.
The station won in several categories including breaking news for last July’s Fargo police ambush, newscast, weather feature, sports play-by-play, sports programming, lifestyle, talk-public affairs and storytelling for a look back at the deadliest fire in North Dakota history.
Honored programs and personalities included News & Views with Joel Heitkamp, It Takes 2 with Amy Iler and JJ Gordon, Jack Michaels Sports, Gone Outdoors with Scott Brewer and Kyle Agre and Chief Meteorologist Tom Szymanski.
KFGO was the only Fargo-Moorhead or North Dakota radio station to win Eric Sevareid Awards during the association’s annual conference in Minneapolis.
MBJA honors radio and TV stations and online organizations in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Nebraska.
Sevareid was a North Dakota native and University of Minnesota graduate who was best known for his work as a correspondent for CBS Radio and Television.
