We tried something new on News and Views today. We began a segment called, “Table Talk with Ed.” Once a month, we’ll be having a round-table discussion here on the Mighty 790 KFGO with former Governor Ed Schafer. The format will be simple. It’ll be equal time for all three: The Governor, myself, and most importantly, you, will all get to bring anything that’s on our mind. The only promise we have to make to each other is to be civil. It doesn’t mean we can’t disagree, but it needs to be in a way that’s void in today’s world. A way where ideas and beliefs are respected.

Donald Trump got his bond reduced in court today in New York. The amount he had to come up with went from $454 million to $175 million. I’m sure it’s going to be seen as a victory for Trump, but it only took him a few seconds to complain on the steps of the courthouse. As I’ve written before, I really don’t understand the State’s case. Trump borrowed money from banks that had the responsibility to know what they were borrowing money for. He obviously lied (which he always does), but shouldn’t it be the bank’s responsibility to know?
Raping a woman, stealing top-secret documents, attempting to overthrow an election, and inciting an insurrection are all more important to me. All of which need to be tried before this fall’s election. Not that the convictions will ever change that 40% of America, but it might just change the 11% that America needs.
Good riding with you,
Joel
