I’ve worked in radio now for 19 years, and I’ve never seen as strong of a response as I have to our podcast series, Capitol Punishment. I’m proud of it for a number of reasons. Short of the area floods, it’s one of the best team efforts I think we’ve had at KFGO. A group of colleagues went the distance by putting in the extra time and effort to make it what it is today: A podcast that thousands of people have listened to.
That may be all self-serving and something that doesn’t matter unless the end product is good. And judging by the thousands that have listened, I would suggest the end product is at the very least, interesting.
The biggest reason I’m proud of the product, is that no other media is working at something like this. That’s part of the problem in North Dakota: Media doesn’t follow up. The people involved in the story rely on that, and simply want people to forget and move on. I’m glad we didn’t do that.

Also, the Environmental Protection Agency finally approved the sale of gasoline in summer months with a 15% blend of ethanol. Farmers have been fighting for E-15 for years. They’ve done it through a number of administrations with the support and request of all mid-state Governors. It’s finally happened.
The problem I have is that Governor Burgum pulled North Dakota’s support. Farmers finally won, and North Dakota wasn’t even part of it. Burgum stated that he had to look after the oil industry. Give me a break. Farmers will profit from this, and it isn’t as though the oil industry isn’t profiting. Oil has enjoyed record sales and record profits throughout the Biden Administration.
Maybe Burgum should remember what we do here in North Dakota. We raise corn, and we’ll continue to raise corn when this oil boom is over.
I know it might make him popular with Donald Trump, but he’s still our Governor.
Good riding with you,
Joel
