OWATONNA, Minn. (KFGO) – A firefighter in Owatonna in southern Minnesota is in the spotlight after he helped rescue a deer that fell through thin ice.
The fire department posted a video showing the firefighter assisting the Department of Natural Resources.
The firefighter was wearing a rescue suit as he waded into chest-deep water to lift the deer onto thicker ice. The deer laid on the ice, leading the firefighter to climb out of the water and push the deer toward shore.
The deer eventually got to its feet and walked into the woods.
