MOORHEAD (KFGO) – The Moorhead fire chief says a generator appears to be the cause of a house fire in Moorhead Thursday evening.
Chief Jeff Wallin says crews were called to 1016 4th Avenue N. at 5:40 where they found smoke coming from a garage. They learned there was a fire in the basement and put it out with help from crews from Fargo and Dilworth.
Wallin says the homeowner was running a generator in the basement and it started nearby materials on fire. The homeowner was the only person in the house at the time and made it out safely.
No damage estimates are available at this time.
