MARSHFIELD, WI (KFGO) – The Wisconsin health system that had been in merger talks with Duluth-based Essentia Health is laying off 3% of its workforce.
Marshfield Clinic Health System says the layoffs will help the organization achieve “financial turnaround” goals. When the merger was called off earlier this month, Essentia Health said Marshfield’s financial situation was the primary factor in the decision.
Essentia has hospitals in Fargo and Detroit Lakes and clinics around the region.
