GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO/KNOX) – A Grand Forks man was sentenced Monday to 40 years in prison on a charge of murder with extreme indifference.
Kindi Jalloh appeared in Northeast Central District Court in the May 2022 death of 67-year-old Douglas Elgert. Police classified the death as a homicide one day after Elgert’s body was found in his north Grand Forks residence.
Judge John Thelen sentenced Jalloh to 50 years with 10 years suspended. He will also be on five-years probation after his release.
A jury found Jalloh guilty in November.
