Attorney General Keith Ellison (D-MN)
ST. PAUL, Minn. – A California student loan debt-relief company is the 14th fraudulent company in Minnesota to be shut down by Attorney General Keith Ellison.
Ellison said his office has obtained a settlement that requires Docupros to stop operating in Minnesota and provide full refunds to its Minnesota consumers. This comes after it was found illegally collecting fees from customers and misrepresenting its services.
The company promised student-loan debt forgiveness to Minnesota students when only the federal government has that authority.
Docupros is required to immediately pay the state $17,824.68, the exact full amount collected from Minnesota customers.
