FARGO (KFGO) – The newest COVID-19 vaccine is arriving at medical centers, and experts say it’s good timing ahead of a winter wave of infections.
The government is no longer in charge of distribution, so the vaccines are being distributed commercially by the manufacturers.
Katie Galbreath, Pharmacy Supervisor at Sanford Health in Fargo, says the vaccine is now available.
“We did receive our entire pre-order of our COVID vaccine late last week, and were able to push doses out to our clinic sites the same day,” Galbreath said. “All of our clinics have stock of the new formulation of the vaccine and patients are able to receive [it] now.”
Galbreath says Sanford Health will hold a COVID “blitz” this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon and again next Saturday at Sanford Southpointe Clinic in Fargo.
You can contact your medical provider for more information about receiving the COVID vaccine.
