WASHINGTON (KFGO) – Tributes are pouring in for Dianne Feinstein after the trailblazing U.S. Senator died at 90.
“What I’ll remember is this incredibly headstrong woman who just kept going and going,” Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar said. “[She] was someone who everyone respected for her intelligence and her independence. When I think of Dianne, that’s how I’ll remember her.”
Former North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp knew Feinstein well.
“This is, along with my friend John McCain, a passing of a time when senators really did not flinch against the tough issues,” Heitkamp said. “They weren’t running for a tweet, they were running to basically run the country. Dianne was in that category.”
Sen. John Hoeven said Feinstein was a dedicated legislator and gracious colleague. Sen. Kevin Cramer said Feinstein was an intelligent and influential lawmaker and a giant of the senate.
Govs. Doug Burgum and Tim Walz ordered flags lowered to half staff.
Feinstein served in the senate for 30 years. She died at her home in Washington.
