FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – The Lashkowitz High Rise is getting ready for Saturday’s teardown in downtown Fargo.
Officials said the team of structure engineers are putting in shaped charges on the sides of the building and a small piece of dynamite at the bottom.
Once demolition of the High Rise is complete, work will begin on 110 units of affordable housing called the Lashkowitz River Front. That project is expected to finish by May 2025.
The implosion is scheduled for 7 a.m. Officials said it will sound like loud fireworks, and it could get dusty. The exclusion zone set up by the City of Fargo will be in place between 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
