ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO/WCCO) – St. Paul police say a man charged last week with killing his girlfriend and dismembering her body is now a prime suspect in the death and dismemberment of another woman.
This comes after investigators found more human remains in a second storage locker.
The search that found those remains came following a tip that Fanta Xayavong was reportedly in an abusive relationship with Joseph Jorgenson, who was charged last week in the death of Mani Starren.
“Our forensics services unit, as well as the midwest medical examiner’s office of Anoka, responded to the storage unit, and recovered those remains,” Sgt. Mike Ernster said. “Today, those remains were identified as Fanta Xayavong.”
Xayavong was last seen in 2021.
Her remains were found Thursday in a storage unit in Coon Rapids, while Starren’s remains were discovered in a Woodbury storage facility.
Jorgenson has not been charged in connection with the Xayavong case. He’s in custody on the previous case on $5 million bail.
Anyone who has information in connection with these cases is asked to call the Minnesota BCA tip line.
