MINNEAPOLIS – Tuition could increase three-and-a-half percent next school year (’23-’24) for undergraduates on the U-of-M’s Twin Cities campus, under an annual budget plan presented to the Board of Regents.
Tuition would go up one percent at Duluth, Morris, and Crookston. The University’s fiscal 2024 budget would increase just under four percent to four-and-a-half billion dollars and includes a 55-million-dollar bump in state aid, but University officials couldn’t convince the legislature to provide additional money to freeze tuition — something that will happen at Minnesota State, the state college and university system.
The proposed budget includes 3.75-percent merit-based salary increases for faculty and staff. BW reporting.)
The legislature did pass and Governor Tim Walz signed a bill to provide free public college tuition to Minnesota students from families making less than 80 thousand dollars.
