Andrew Jager (Stutsman County Corrections)
CARRINGTON, N.D. (KFGO/NewsDakota)– A Carrington man is facing a number of felony charges for possession of a firearm by a felon in connection with a bizarre incident that occurred on Main Street in Carrington in the early morning of April 21st.
Carrington Police say 36-year-old Andrew Jager was walking down the middle of Main Street carrying a gun case and yelling at people passing by.
Jager was only 2 blocks from the school, showed persistent erratic behavior, and refused to comply with officers’ commands to drop the gun case. Police tried to arrest Jager, but he resisted, and eventually, police were assisted by two bystanders.
During a search officers found Jager was carrying two concealed pistols, as well as a full magazine, and multiple boxes of ammunition. In the gun case, he was carrying a semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun.
Jager was transported to Stutsman County Corrections in Jamestown and remains jailed on a $500 cash bond.
He’s charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, Class C felonies, and two misdemeanor counts of carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. His next court appearance is next month.
