Audrey Louise Thomaier
May 25, 1927 – March 29, 2023
Audrey was born in Fargo ND to George and Selma (Miller) Norman and lived in Fargo her entire life. She graduated from Central High School in Fargo and Concordia College Moorhead MN.
She married Andre (Andy) Thomaier and they had one daughter Michele. Audrey was employed with the Fargo Recruiting Station and the VA Medical Center, retiring in 2000 at the age of 72. During her life she was active with Beta Sigma Phi, The America Legion and LWML activities at Grace Lutheran Church Fargo.
In retirement she enjoyed traveling with her family and after Andy’s passing spent much of her time traveling with daughter Michele to many horse related activities including the FM Mounted Posse, Quarter Horse shows and Pinto Shows.
Audrey enjoyed knitting and doing word search puzzles and enjoyed traveling even as her health declined. In January, the long journey for daughter Michele as a caregiver became too much and Audrey became a resident of Parkside Lutheran Home in Lisbon ND as no openings were available in the FM area care centers. Parkside was an amazing facility and did a wonderful job carrying for Audrey.
Audrey is survived by only daughter Michele Thomaier, Fargo. Cousins Barbara (Dan) Gehle, Little Falls MN and Bonnie Gentry, Little Falls. Nieces Mary Cabril and Susan Compo, both California. Special family friends: Jay and Victoria Kemmer, Carol Hendrickson and Scott Whitmore. She is also survived by her beloved kitties, Kurt and Mari.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, several aunts and uncles, husband Andy and several beloved cats.
A Celebration of life will be held following a Graveside burial in early summer, once this long winter has ended.
