FARGO (KFGO) – A state district judge has sentenced a former Fargo South High School band teacher to 2 1/2 years in prison for having an ongoing sexual relationship with a student.
43-year-old Sebastian Tackling had earlier pleaded guilty to corruption of a minor while a second charge was dropped.
Prosecutors say the relationship with the girl started when she was 17.
Tackling resigned in early December after he had been placed on administrative leave by the school district.
Tackling will be on supervised probation following his release from prison. He was also ordered to pay fines and fees totaling $560. His attorney argued for a 60-day jail sentence.
He must also register as a sex offender.
