STILLWATER, Minn. – The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the fatal shooting of an armed man by police in Stillwater Saturday afternoon.
Police Chief Brian Mueller says the suspect shot several rounds in and outside the apartment building and hurt several people before they arrived. He says officers were met with gunfire and they returned fire, incapacitating the suspect who later died at Regions Hospital. Stillwater Fire Chief Stuart Glaeser says some gas lines were struck by bullets.
Investigators are trying to determine a motive.
