GEORGETOWN, Minn. (KFGO) – The suspect in a north Fargo storage facility burglary Wednesday morning was arrested in Clay County, Minnesota after a police chase.
According to Fargo Police, the burglary was reported around 7:15 a.m. near the intersection of 7th Avenue and 35th Street N. where the manager reported seeing the suspect break into a storage unit.
The suspect fled as officers arrived, heading north out of town, with the victim following.
Cass County deputies began a pursuit and attempted to stop the suspect who crossed into rural Clay County where deputies there used stop sticks to try to end the pursuit.
The suspect continued for a short distance before pulling into a farmstead and fleeing into a field on foot.
Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting said residents in the area let deputies use a UTV with tracks to go into the field and arrest the suspect.
The suspect is being held in the Clay County Jail in Moorhead.
