WAHPETON, N.D. (KFGO) – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) is offering a $5,000 reward after $23,000 of fireworks were stolen from a company in Galchutt, North Dakota.
Matrix Fireworks discovered the display fireworks had been stolen earlier this month while checking their storage facilities. Display fireworks are not for sale to the public and are typically used under the supervision of a trained pyrotechnician.
“There is a public safety concern given the potential for misuse of these explosives,” ATF Special Agent in Charge William McCrary said. “Our hope is that someone who knows about this theft will do the right thing and report what they know to avoid anyone being hurt.”
According to the ATF, the fireworks were assembled and packaged. The packaging is labeled “Matrix Fireworks.”
The reward is being offered to anyone who has information leading to the conviction of those responsible for the theft.
