ST. PAUL, Minn. – Advocates are asking for $2 billion from the state’s budget surplus to address what they say is an affordable housing shortage across the state.
Anne Mavity with the Minnesota Housing Partnership said there’s a workforce housing shortage in all corners of the state, especially rural communities in Greater Minnesota and the biggest squeeze is on lowest-income families.
Mavity said they are short around 100,000 units.
