ALEXANDRIA, MINN. (KFGO) – The storms that rolled through the region Thursday night packed a punch. Winds as strong as 80 mph blew semi’s over on I-94 near Alexandria. The westbound lanes were blocked and traffic was detoured for more than an hour as tow trucks cleared the overturned semis.
A few miles away, an SUV was blown off I-94 and into cables by strong winds. The driver, 24-year-old Katherine Gruver of West Fargo was transported to the Alexandria hospital. One of the semi-drivers was also hurt. Both were transported to the Alexandria hospital. Their injuries were not serious.
