May 26th 1936 – March 17th 2022
Robert [Bob] Dean Fralick, 85, of Minnetonka, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, March 17th 2022 at 9:15pm while under Hospice care.
Bob was born in Duluth, Minnesota, to Carl and Elsie Fralick. He grew up attending school in the Duluth area and graduated from Proctor High School. Bob worked on the railroad between the range area traveling as far as Montana. He eventually returned to the Duluth area where he joined the Minnesota Army National Guard and honorably served for 13 years. During his military service he started working for American Greeting cards as a salesman for 15 years. Bob then started his own business in sales–Fralick and Company was formed in the mid 1970’s. He grew the company from a Minnesota/North Dakota area to a region that now covers the Midwest. Bob was a dedicated business owner that worked endless hours taking well deserved breaks to spend time with his family on vacations. Working together Bob and Deb were very fortunate to see a great deal of the country as well as being able to visit family and manufacturers they represented in Europe, New Zealand/Australia and beyond. Great friends and family brought much joy whether speaking with, being able to see or visit or traveling on cruises and trips with them.
Bob was an active member of Gethsemane Church. He was also a former Mason.
Bob was a sarcastically funny guy, having a look that would sometimes make you laugh. Remembering in his last days…his son was visiting him, Bob gave him “that look” and is son said…”What are you going to do? Get out of the bed and kick my butt?” Bob thought for a minute and then laughed saying…”I guess I’m not!” [Bob’s son would not have dared to challenge Bob in his prime.] Bob was also a connoisseur of old war movies, MASH, Hogans Hero’s and old western shows. Once the evening news was over, with remote in hand, he would be searching stations for these shows. Yet it didn’t take much to find them – he knew which stations broadcasted them. Probably the most notable trait of Bob…he would finish up a conversation with “make it a great day”. He will be missed.
Bob was married to Beverly Fralick for 25 plus years and had five children. Bob remarried in 1991 to Deb who was his wife for 31 years until his death.
Bob was preceded in death by his father [Carl], his mother [Elsie], his twin brother [Carl] and grandson (Tyler).
Bob is survived by his wife Deb of 31 years; children, Bob [Ellen], Gale, Susan, Kay [Tad], and Janelle [Tom], 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, extended family and many friends.
There will be a celebration of life for Bob in the future as to his request he donated himself to research at the University of Minnesota.
